About Us
Who We Are
Stevenson Holistic Care Foundation (SHCF) is an indigenous and legally registered not-for-profit organization founded in 2012 out of a common interest of a group of healthcare professionals driven by their commitment to God and humanity. The vision of SHCF is to drastically reduce mortality and morbidity in rural communities through enlightenment and accessible medical intervention.
In line with this vision, SHCF has a mission to educate and enlighten communities on avoidable and manageable diseases while delivering free and quality welfare and healthcare services especially to rural communities and less privileged people in the society – our greatest concern is “Caring for the Total Man”.
Programatically, the core focus of SHCF is on public health and social welfare and this is delivered in the form of research, integrated care (including clinical and livelihood support) and capacity building.
Although primarily located at Elelenwo, Port Harcourt (River State), their reach extends to several communities scattered across and beyond the the state. This is made feasible by the strong partnership network is has developed which continues to build on.
Aims and Purposes of our Organization.

That’s how we make lives better
We facilitate critical discussion around global health priorities and through our focus areas of Policy and Advocacy, we identify people’s needs and move in swiftly with assistant in the best of our capacity. We strive to be the voice of the global community, by advocating for improved investments and advancement of the global health agenda in the remotest parts of the globe. We also identify and provide other materials and physical aid that enhance life thereby reflecting our truism- “Caring for the Total Man”

Dr Innocent Vakkai who has served the public since 2004 when he was deployed as Head of Nigeria Delegation to Belize Central America. In 2010 he was appointed as Consultant Public Health Physician and state Epidemiologist in the Taraba State Ministry of Health, and in the year 2012 as Chairman Taraba State Implementation Team for USAID SIDHASS project.

What We Do
Research for new insights and innovative solutions to health problems
As a charitable organization mindful of our responsibility to provide public service, we’re willing to take risks that pattern to humanitarian services.
Our Core Functions is public welfare and Health assistance with focus on: Research, training and assistance.
- Develop/Plan Policy and be part of the solution, Inform, educate and empower people about health issues; Mobilize community partnerships to identify and solve health problems
- We combine the experience of the health personnel and the collective ability and commitment of the volunteers to act swiftly towards realizing our objectives.
- We sought for new insights and innovative solutions to health problems;we carry out assessment “Knowing what needs to be done” Monitoring health status of the people to identify the health and welfare needs.
- We help provide link to needed humanitarian services and ensure the provision of welfare and health care where otherwise unavailable.
- We diagnose and investigate the hazards in the community and develop plan/policy for solution

Where we work
We visit homes to ensure proper sanitation and reproductive health. There are villages found mostly in tropical regions that likely have never been visited by licensed health workers
